ANCHORED IN PASPALEY

Celebrating Paspaley’s heritage as Master Pearlers, Anchored in Paspaley brings together two iconic design concepts, adding new pieces to the existing Dive and Lavalier collections.
DISCOVER THE COLLECTION
The Lavalier collection has long centred around the signature Lavalier pendant, modelled on the antique glass buoys, encased in rope net, that were once used to mark the pearl oyster beds. Three new Anchored Lavalier pieces now enter this collection, adding the pendants to jewel-encrusted chains based on the nautical chains found on Paspaley’s pearling vessels. Details on the Tassel Anchored Lavalier are reminiscent of the frayed ropes found on Town Beach in Broome, remnants of historic wooden pearling luggers, while gradations in colour are a nod to the weathering and patina that happens to ropes and chains exposed to the elements, whether under water or under the sun.

The new Anchored Lavalier necklaces are designed to hold Paspaley’s most significant and voluptuous pearls, held in their natural state in jewel-covered nets. Pearls of this calibre and lustre have been collected and treasured by the Paspaley family over many years and are a testament to the history and status of Paspaley as Master Pearlers.

Making their debut within the Lavalier collection are the Bollard designs, based on the nautical bollards used to securely moor boats to the dock. Here, their minimalist bar design is rendered in channel-set sapphires and diamonds on earrings and rings, and in the innovative new Anchored Lavalier mechanism that opens and closes the net to release - or secure - the pearl within.

The Dive collection adds the new Anchor Link designs, inspired by the nautical chains found on pearling vessels. Their industrial inspiration is elevated to fine jewellery in a selection of precious metals and jewelled details, including white diamonds, black spinel and turquoise. The latest Dive Chains are custom-cast and unique to Paspaley. Many of the chain links feature the angled “keel edge”, resembling the keel of a boat, a motif that is echoed throughout the new designs. The Anchor Link motif, the unique capsule-shaped link with central side details, is directly inspired by its nautical counterpart, and is referenced in pieces across the Dive collection.
