The open sea is the siren’s call that lures Paspaley’s divers away from their homes and loved ones to seek out the wild pearl oyster shells. For weeks, they spend their days and nights aboard the pearling vessels, surrounded by vast waters and endless horizons. This is a life based on passion, born of adventure and a love of nature – a yearning for a life beyond the boundary of everyday expectations.
It takes strength and sensitivity to be part of this world. Courage and versatility. There is a sense of ritual in the work, an affinity with both nature and the elements, and a camaraderie between those who have chosen this life. The outward strength of our divers – obvious in the physical demands this work requires – is balanced by an internal elegance born of their affinity with nature.

Sleek in their black wetsuits, our divers enter the underwater world – their parallel universe. They search the ocean floor, collecting Pinctada maxima pearl oysters by hand, working in tandem with Mother Nature to ensure that these two worlds can coexist in harmony.
The Dive Collection celebrates our divers and the depths they navigate. It includes the Entwine Set, which is inspired by the twists and texture of the nautical ropes found on board our pearling luggers. For the diver, it is also a reminder of being entwined with his lover; the memory of their last embrace is one that sustains him while they are apart. The ring his lover wears is her keepsake, its pearls a reminder of his dual passions, and a token of his love for her.
